Working with an artist to design a custom piece for your home is a very special process. Taelor has a specific set of steps that she will take you through to create a painting that fits perfectly in your space. This is a rewarding experience that produces a unique piece specifically for your wants, needs, and taste.
Steps to the Process
First, we meet!
I like to first talk about the size, colors, and timeline specifics. If you are in Dallas, we will set up a time to meet through my email. The commission meetings last no longer than 30 minutes! If you are out of town, we will discuss details over email.
After the Meeting
After our initial conversation, I will drop off /send a Commission Folder which will contain mini drafts of your painting and an invoice.
The purpose of the Mini Draft is mainly for color matching. Once you have received the mini drafts, take a look at the colors and how they relate to your space. We can always go lighter or darker on any color. You can make note of this on the paper/email next to the colors.
The Invoice will reflect the price/square inch of the canvas size that we measured and finalized. It will also include a quote for framing if this is an option.
Deposit and Payment
50% of the total will be accepted prior to the beginning of the commission. The final payment will be accepted at the time of drop off, or prior to shipping your painting.
Once you have approved the size and colors, please email me with your notes or changes. From there I will begin your commission*! The drop off date will be reflected in the Commission Notes and Invoice, or decided upon at a later time.
*My commission timing is usually a 3-4 week turnaround. Framing takes an additional two weeks.
Drop off and Shipping
We will set up a time for delivery through email. If shipping, I will email you the tracking information so that it arrives safely to your home.
